Sustainable Ambitions

Sustainable Sourcing

We are proud to champion Cornwall’s environment, producers, and communities.

Whenever possible, we select fresh, seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, reducing food miles and celebrating Cornwall’s rich farming and artisan heritage. We work closely with trusted partners such as James Kittow, Grazier and Butcher at Kilhallon, and other exceptional local growers.

Eco‑Friendly Operations

Sustainability sits at the heart of Flory’s. We prioritise energy efficiency with LED lighting throughout the restaurant and continually work to reduce waste, recycle responsibly, and minimise single‑use plastics.

All our cleaning and packaging products are chosen for their low environmental impact. Long before council schemes were introduced, our kitchen began recycling food waste and cooking oils, alongside standard recycling of cardboard and glass. We’re committed to improving wherever we can.

Supporting People & Community

Flory’s is built on the belief that good hospitality should benefit both people and planet. We support fair working conditions, welcome every guest warmly, and minimise food waste by making full use of natural ingredients.

Our journey is ongoing, and we’re always looking for new ways to make every plate we serve more sustainable.

Regenerative Tourism

Flory’s proudly supports regenerative tourism in Cornwall — ensuring that visitors contribute positively to the region.

We align with Cornwall Council’s vision for sustainable, responsible tourism, helping to protect our countryside, coastline, footpaths, and beaches while supporting local communities.

We recognise the delicate balance between agriculture, conservation, and community wellbeing. By sourcing locally and raising awareness of regenerative practices, we help strengthen Cornwall’s food culture and natural environment. Our partners include James Kittow at Kilhallon and The Fresh Vegetable Nursery at Withiel, among others.

Wet Days in Cornwall

When the Cornish weather turns a little wild, Bodmin becomes the perfect place to explore. With easy parking in nearby public car parks, visitors flock to local attractions such as Bodmin Jail, Lanhydrock House, the Bodmin & Wenford Heritage Railway, and the world‑famous Eden Project.

And after a morning of adventure, Flory’s Eatery is the ideal stop for a relaxed lunch or a delicious dinner.
